After nearly three years of fundraising, the Veterans Outreach of Pennsylvania unveiled over a dozen tiny new homes for veterans in Harrisburg experiencing homelessness.
Construction along Front Street has been ongoing since last summer, there are 15 homes in total. Officials estimate there are 30 veterans who are homeless in the city on any given night and they say this is a step towards helping them.
“This place is one of those sacred sanctuaries that’s close enough to services, it’s close enough to public transportation, but yet its far enough and the serenity is unbelievable,” Chair and Co-Founder of Veterans Outreach of Pennsylvania Tom Zimmerman said.
